TheWheelsApp ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our website and mobile application (collectively, the "Service").
TheWheelsApp does not collect personal information to share with or sell to third parties. We only use data that you explicitly choose to send from your device to provide you with ride performance analysis and related features within the Service.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information only with your explicit permission:
- Account Information - Your email address and name, provided during registration, used solely to authenticate you and manage your account.
- Ride Telemetry Data - GPS location, speed, lean angle, acceleration, and other sensor data transmitted from your mobile device during rides. This data is collected only while you actively record a ride and have granted location and sensor permissions on your device.
- Device Information - Basic device orientation and mount configuration to ensure accurate ride data interpretation.
- Weather Data - Ambient weather conditions captured during rides to enrich your ride analysis.
- Subscription & Purchase Information - When you purchase a subscription inside the WHEELS mobile app, the transaction is processed by Apple In-App Purchase and validated through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We receive only the product identifier, subscription status, renewal/expiration dates, original transaction ID, and store environment (sandbox or production). We never receive your full Apple ID, payment card number, or billing address. When you purchase per-rider add-ons on our website, payment is processed by Stripe; we similarly do not store credit card numbers or financial account details on our servers.
How We Use Your Information
Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- To display your ride performance, analytics, and safety metrics within the Service.
- To enable team features such as shared maps and rider tracking (visible only to your team members).
- To process subscription payments through our payment processor (Stripe).
- To improve the accuracy and reliability of ride analysis algorithms.
- To send you critical account notifications (e.g., subscription changes, security alerts).
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with any third party for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the Service.
Your Consent and Control
- Explicit Permission - Telemetry data is only collected when you actively enable location and sensor permissions on your mobile device and choose to record a ride. You may revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.
- Data Access - You can view all data associated with your account through the Service's dashboard, including ride history and analytics.
- Account Deletion - You can delete your account directly from inside the WHEELS mobile app on the Account screen by tapping Delete My Account. You may also email us at officialwheelsapp@gmail.com to request deletion. Upon deletion, your authentication record, profile, ride history, telemetry, and team membership are permanently removed from our systems. Note that any active App Store subscription must be cancelled separately from your Apple ID subscription settings; deleting your WHEELS account does not automatically refund or cancel an Apple subscription.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure database storage, authenticated API access, and rate-limited endpoints to prevent abuse. While no system is completely immune to security threats, we are committed to safeguarding your information to the best of our ability.
Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with the following third-party providers strictly to deliver core functionality:
- Apple In-App Purchase - Processes mobile subscription payments. Apple receives all payment details directly; we never see them.
- RevenueCat - Validates and manages mobile subscription state, receipts, and renewal events. RevenueCat receives an anonymized user identifier and the subscription product identifier.
- Stripe - Secure payment processing for web-based per-rider add-on purchases.
- Supabase - Provides our authenticated database backend, including account records, team membership, and ride telemetry storage. Data is hosted in the United States.
- Google Maps - Map rendering for ride visualization and team tracking.
- Cloudflare - Security and bot protection for our website.
These providers operate under their own privacy policies. We share only the minimum information necessary for each service to function (e.g., anonymized user ID for RevenueCat receipt validation, coordinates for map display).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
